الملفات التى تخزنها في قرصك الصلب تحفظ على هيئة كتل وبمرور الوقت واستمرار إضافة وحذف الملفات تصبح هذه الكتل متشتته و غير منتظمة على القرص الصلب فيصبح القرص مجزأ وهنا لو اردنا فتح ملف ما فان القرص يحتاج الى اعادة تجميع للبيانات في هذه الكتل المتشتته وبالتالي
يصاب بالبطيء وعلاجه هو الغاء هذه التجزئة بما يسمى بDefragmentation .
